Given the exceptional results we are getting on Staghorn Sumac (rhus typhina) – see “super-chatoyant staghorn sumac“-, we are now focusing at understanding how consistent sumac timber is, collecting samples from different populations. This chart summarizes our findings:

With an average chatoyance of 28.9 PZC measured on a total of 35 different logs from 10 different sources stands at n. 1 out of over 700 species measured as of March 2026.
