Description: Fraxinus excelsior (European Ash) is a large, fast-growing deciduous tree featuring opposite, pinnate leaves with 7-13 dark green leaflets. Its bark is smooth and grey when young, developing deep fissures with age. It produces distinctive clusters of winged seeds known as samaras or “ash keys.”
